Cleaning & Care Guide — Water-Repellent Shoes
Daily dust removal After each wear, gently wipe the upper with a soft brush or a lightly damp cloth to remove dust and dirt and prevent build-up.
Treat stains promptly Light-coloured shoes show dirt more easily—clean stains as soon as possible. Dilute a mild detergent (e.g., dish soap), apply with a soft cloth or brush in circular motions, then wipe away residue with a clean damp cloth. Avoid scrubbing hard to prevent fabric damage.
No machine washing or long soaking Machine washing or prolonged soaking can damage the water-repellent membrane and the shoe shape. Hand-wash only and keep wash time short.
Proper drying method After cleaning, press with a dry towel to absorb excess moisture—do not wring. Stuff shoes with newspaper or use shoe trees to keep their shape, and air-dry in a cool, well-ventilated place. Do not expose to direct sunlight or use heaters, hair dryers, or other heat sources, which can deform or age the materials.
Spot & stubborn stain care For stubborn, localized stains, follow the instructions on a dedicated shoe cleaner. First test on an inconspicuous area to ensure no discoloration or damage, then proceed with cleaning. Note that using cleaners may affect the water-repellent coating.
Storage tips When not in use, store shoes in their box or a dust bag in a dry, ventilated place. Avoid heavy pressure or contact with sharp objects to prevent deformation or damage.
Notes
Do not use bleach, fabric softeners, or cleaners containing strong acids/alkalis—they will damage the fabric and water-repellent coating.
Avoid prolonged rubbing against dark-coloured items to prevent dye transfer.
The water-repellent coating may wear down over time with use and friction. If needed, once the shoe surface is completely dry, apply a suitable water-repellent spray evenly to restore or boost water resistance. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.
